I'm Drako, the independent developer of Renegades Vault. I began making the game in November 2024 because I wanted an adult game with more systems and player agency than a traditional visual novel: vault management, character progression, resource pressure, exploration, trade, and combat all working together.
Since then, I have taken the project from its first design documents to a playable Windows alpha. The current build includes vault management, character progression, wasteland locations, trading, quests, turn-based combat, and the Bonetown arena. I release new builds as each set of systems and content is ready.
Patreon income pays for development tools, game assets, and other production costs. It also allows me to spend more working time on programming, writing, testing, and improving the next build. That support directly affects how much I can complete between releases.

Renegades Vault is an adult post-apocalyptic slave-trading management RPG where you acquire, evaluate, develop, retain, and sell a valuable roster while rebuilding power from a hidden desert Vault.
Renegades Vault combines roster management, RPG progression, resource survival, slave trading, exploration, turn-based combat, story choices, and mature adult themes. Trading and developing the right people for the right opportunities is the game’s central economic loop.
Your long-term goal is to turn the hidden Vault into a powerful operation, use information and profitable trades to build influence, and gain leverage against Overseer Kane’s network of control. Restoring the Vault and its water systems supports that wider campaign.
The game takes place in the year 2210, after economic collapse, environmental disaster, drought, and resource wars reshaped the world. The setting is centered around the former American Southwest, where water, trade, technology, and survival determine power.
Yes. Renegades Vault is intended for adults only. It contains mature themes, exploitation, coercive power structures, harsh social systems, and sexual content. The game is not suitable for minors.
Yes. Combat exists as part of the game's wider RPG systems. The game includes turn-based combat, character stats, stamina, health, equipment, and arena-related progression. Combat is one system inside a larger management game, not the whole game.
Yes, but it is more accurate to call it Vault management. You restore, upgrade, and expand rooms inside the Vault. Each room has a purpose, such as power, storage, water purification, crafting, training, medical care, or security.
Water is one of the most important resources in Renegades Vault. It affects survival, trade, power, status, and long-term strategy. Restoring the Vault's water systems is one of the central paths to gaining influence in the wasteland.
Yes. The current playable area centers on the Vault, Dustmere, and Bonetown. New Eden, Oasis, Rust Haven, the Scrapyard, and other regions are established parts of the wider setting, but they are not all currently playable or committed to a near-term release.
Yes. Renegades Vault is built around difficult choices, roster decisions, resource pressure, and long-term consequences. Your decisions can affect character progression, story outcomes, market access, and available opportunities.
Renegades Vault is built in Unity 2022.3 LTS.
Yes. Renegades Vault is currently playable in alpha. v0.25 officially launched as the public build on July 14, 2026 and is available on itch.io.
New builds arrive as development milestones are completed. Patreon supporters get the newest build first, and the public build follows 10 days later after early feedback and fixes.
Yes. The current roadmap covers the focused v0.27–v0.35 plan for trade history, buyer demand, better acquisitions, specialist development, market intelligence, Finding Jarek, market pressure, and leverage against Kane. Plans can change as development and player feedback evolve.
No. Renegades Vault is still in active development. The current version is an alpha, which means some systems, visuals, writing, balance, and content are unfinished or subject to change.
Alpha means the game is playable but still under construction. Some features may be incomplete, some content may change, and bugs are expected. Alpha players help improve the game by testing, reporting issues, and giving feedback.
Not always. Some visuals are final, while others may be placeholders, work-in-progress, or subject to improvement as the game develops. The target style is cinematic painterly realism with a gritty post-apocalyptic atmosphere.
Yes. I use AI-generated artwork for locations and events. Some earlier character artwork was also AI-generated, but I began replacing those images with 3D models in April 2026. I also use AI tools to help with development while working a full-time job. The full statement explains what is changing and what I plan to keep.

Yes. The public alpha remains free through the official itch.io page. Patreon supporters help fund development and get the newest build 10 days early, plus the cheat-menu build, deeper development posts, early previews, and a voice in selected development polls.
Renegades Vault is currently developed for Windows 10/11 (64-bit). Other platforms are not the current priority while the game is still in active development.
Steam is a possible future goal, but the current focus is building the game, growing the community, and improving the public alpha. For now, use the official itch.io page linked from this site.
Save compatibility is handled on a best-effort basis during alpha. Some updates may require a new save if major systems change. When possible, we try to preserve saves, but early development can sometimes break old save files.
Final system requirements are not locked yet. The game is currently developed for Windows PC, and performance may change as optimization continues. More detailed requirements will be listed closer to a stable release.

Yes. Community feedback is welcome, especially during alpha. Suggestions may influence balance, UI, quality-of-life changes, future systems, and content priorities, but not every suggestion can be added.
Community polls may be used to help guide future priorities. Some votes may be public, while others may be reserved for supporters depending on the topic. Final development decisions are still made based on scope, quality, and what fits the game.
Yes. We have started deploying the wiki, with articles covering the game's world, systems, locations, factions, and terminology. More articles will be added as the game expands.
